In 1986, as a result of the contribution of funds from the sale of the previous hall site, grants from the SSDC, County Council, and funds raised by the villagers, the new Rimpton Village Hall was built on land kindly donated by the Ryall family.
The Village Hall is run by a committee of management trustees made up of village residents but they do not have sole responsibility for organising events. The Village Hall can be hired out for various activities so please contact a member of the village hall committee if you are planning an event.
The Marden family kindly donated the land for the playing field. In 2007 substantial funds were raised by villagers, Lottery funds, grants and donations for the play equipment, which includes climbing apparatus, slide, swings and zip wire and football area.
Today, the Village Hall is used for a number of events, including the following:
- Yoga – Tuesday mornings.
- Badminton – Wednesday evenings.
- Private badminton groups.
- Harvest Supper – annually (approx. 95-100 villagers attend).
- Coffee and ‘bacon butty’ mornings.
- Village Christmas party after annual Church Carol Service.
- RIMPTON 100 CLUB TICKETS FORM 2023-2024
The Village Hall Committee is made up of Elected Members, Co-Opted Members and Representative Members. The Village Hall Committee can be contacted at: villagehall@rimpton.net
