Rainfall Report – October 2018

October was a relatively dry month with 54 mm (2 inches) of rainfall and 10 wet days.   The second half of the month was very dry with just 4 mm (1/8 inch)

October is currently the month with highest average rainfall of 96.5 mm (3¾ inches) just ahead of November, but this might change this year if there is a wet November.

I have recorded a number of very wet Octobers, the wettest 2000 with 162 mm (6¼ inches), and the driest 1992 with 41.5 mm (1¾ inches).

The total for the year to date is 572 mm, so it might finish up a fairly dry year, but as I write this the drought seems to have come to an end.
