MINUTES MATTER
THE RIMPTON VILLAGE DEFIBRILLATOR
FIRST RESPONDER TEAM
A Defibrillator has
been purchased by the Parish Council and will be installed in a locked box in
the Bus Shelter.
The objective is to
have this emergency equipment available in case someone has a suspected heart
attack as well as a backup should the emergency services (Paramedics and/or Ambulance)
be delayed for any reason e.g. as a
result of flooding and the village being temporarily isolated.
A number of Residents have volunteered to act as “First Responders” and have been trained in the use of the Defibrillator and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
The attached Notice should
be carefully read, understood and kept in a handy and readily accessible place
in your home.
Remember in the event of an emergency ALWAYS PHONE 999 FIRST before phoning a First
Responder.
Where the person has
stopped breathing the most critical thing is to start CPR as soon as possible. This is why the First Responder you
contact will come immediately to your assistance and the Defibrillator will
follow with other First Responders.
MINUTES MATTER SO ACT QUICKLY AND BE PREPARED
This note and the
attached notice can also be found on the Rimpton Website www.rimpton.net. They can be down loaded from the
website should you want to keep an electronic copy and/or to print additional
copies.
Please contact any of
the First Responders listed on the Notice if you have any questions or
concerns.
